Classical Chinese Primer

Classical Chinese Primer addresses an urgent need in the teaching of Classical Chinese. Designed for those who have studied Modern Chinese for one or two years but who have had no exposure to Classical Chinese before, Classical Chinese Primer is a set of two classroom-friendly volumes. The reader includes forty lessons in total and features readings taken from ancient fables, philosophical texts, and historical and literary writings. Each selection is accompanied by annotations and grammar notes. The workbook contains a variety of exercises designed to ensure that students gain a thorough familiarity with the texts studied in the reader.
